Customer Reviews

Comes with 2 batteries. :).700 lumens is a nice bright light. I use It on patrol. It fits nicely on my Sam Browne when you purchase the holder for your specific belt. Nice top and tail switches, and having a spare battery for back up in my duty bag is really nice. A+++ 5I liked it so muchLithium Ion battery, 700 Lumens... it s the most functional flashlight I ve ever had. I use it as a police officer, on the night shift. I liked it so much, I ordered a second. Make sure you get the piggyback charger so you always have a full batter if you use it for duty. 5Doesn't last as long as I'd like on full powerA lot smaller than I expected, but mother of God is it bright! Doesn't last as long as I'd like on full power, but most have no real use for that level of brightness, unless you are searching from a helicopter for escaped convicts in the woods. Fantastic little flashlight. Fits easily in my pocket and in my very congested toolbox. Just wish it came with a wall charger as well as the vehicle charger. 4Durable and best warranty on the market hands downThe piggyback battery is awesome to have, no waiting for battery charge. Also, Streamlight may be a couple dollars more then some flashlights out there, but when it comes to durability and the best warranty on the market for a flashlight. I have owned Strion lights for years, I'm a plumber and always need a good bright light, this warranty not only made sure my light was repaired but sent me a brand new updated flashlight with NO hassle whatsoever, where are you going to find that in today's market. Thanks again Streamlight for making an excellent product and standing behind it. I will never buy anything else. 5Has one fatal flawLove the size and output of the light, but has a fatal flaw. When the battery goes low- it just shuts off without warning. If you are using it in a tactical situation, it may go from 100% output to Zero without warning. Other LED flashlights will dim a little which lets you know you are running out of time with the battery. The Strion left me in a bad spot and blind in the dark. I would not use this flashlight in a life and death situations. It may leave you in a very dangerous spot. 2Fantastic light, especially for the Chapman TechniqueThis little light is ridiculously bright and lightweight for its size. As we haven t yet transitioned over to weapon-mounted lights, I use the Chapman Technique (look it up; I know there s disagreement over it vs FBI vs Ayoob etc). With the Chapman technique, having a small light with a momentary side switch is key for a light to work for me and there are only two lights I know of that have a dual switch (side with momentary feature and tailcap) The Strion has that design. Our agency issues the Polystinger DS, which is a great light but it s big when it comes to the Chapman. The Strion fits in a pocket or in a Taco holster on my external vest carrier. It is blindingly bright and a decent battery life. It is well worth the money. 5Not the beam pattern expectedFew problems with the light. One: it was just thrown in the box, rattling around. Two: the battery in the piggyback wouldn t charge in the piggyback. I had to switch it into the flashlight to get it to charge. My biggest complaint about the light is the beam pattern. I was expecting much more of a flood. I don t think there is much of a difference between the traditional strion beam and the ds hl beam. Their claim is that the hl beam pattern is good for lighting up a room . There is no room in my house that the beam fully lights up. It would work great in a gymnasium/auditorium. But, in a home setting, the beam needs to be more of a flood for the 10-20 foot range in my opinion. I don t know if being as disappointed as I am with the beam pattern should knock a star off or not. If you think it should, then it s a 3 star product. 4it has a wider beam which makes the light look like it isn't bright when compared next to an older ...So, I have both the old strion and now this new DS.Streamlight needs to be specific in that although this is 700 lumens, it has a wider beam which makes the light look like it isn't bright when compared next to an older strion. The beams are misleading and once you compare the two together (dark alley and a dark field with light spalashing trees), you can plainly see that the new version is brighter. If you're clearing a room and need more light splash in an area, this is the light. If you want a more focused beam, don't get the HL. 4Amazing light. This is my second strion. These are amazingly well crafted lights and tough as nails. I work on a drilling rig, and used my first strion at work for years. Left it in my pockets and put it in the washing machine on accident several times. Just dried it out and it kept right on going. Would still have it if it wasn t stolen. 5Good durable light made in a small frame. This is a good durable light from a reliable company manufactured in a small frame. You can choose between high beam, strobe, medium & low beam by single tap, double tap or holding down the button. That is the factory default settings. The one flaw with this light is the hit or miss ability to program the light features you want permanently disabled or enabled with the 10 button tap feature. This was a hit or miss for me. I don't know if mine is defective but it was definitely not as easy as the videos online I found of people easily 10 button tapping to cycle through the programming options. After numerous attempts I was able to change the light to High beam only. After then deciding this option wasn't for me I had to frustrate myself further with many failed attempts to finally return it to the factory settings which I prefer. If I could not return it to factory settings I was going to return this item. All in all this is a good light. Unless you want to frequently change the the programming for what features you want to permanently disable or enable. 4
