Shouldn t wear out liked other keyboards Overall I really like this keyboard.. The main reason is that I actually think this will hold up longer that the 3 different ones I have tried before. Ok so if you have this iPad you know it s big and somewhat heavy. I have had one manufacturer s keyboard break on me twice and then I went to other manufacturers. The issues are all the same... They are supporting the entire weight on a hinge. So those keyboards all open up and the hinge then holds the iPad stationary. Over time, about 8 months, they all either break or wear out and won t hold up the iPad anymore.. So they offer multiple angles for viewing but all wear out.. This one is different, the keyboard takes the weight not the hinge. Pros: iPad support system should not break like other hinge type keyboards.. Cons: keyboard is not back-lit, only one position/angle for ipad.. overall recommendation: buy! 4Read all reviews before deciding to buy this one I took a chance on this one due to some of the reviews. I had liked that the table could be flipped on the side or bottom. Guess I could say that is the only reason I give it 2 stars. You get what you pay for.The plastics is very cheap and you almost feel like it will break when you go to pick it up. the keyboard works when it feels like it (yes it is fully charged in case you were asking) Last and of importance to me is you can not secure the two parts together (meaning lock) in any way. THere is this little tab on the side but it sure does not hook into the outer side as it sits to far back. So for me this one is a no go and I have returned the item for a refund. 24 out of 5 It's a great case and very convenient for using the tablet as a tablet also. The best feature is the the case will allow the iPad to stand at 90 degrees. This is great for taking videos of interviews, etc., and stay in landscape mode. The one detractor is that the plastic surrounding the iPad has no padding or insulating material, so there's a slight sound distortion when playing music or videos. Adding just a couple of thins padding stripes would likely have prevented that. 4Not the Worst Keyboard for the Money If this case was made of something more durable than plastic I would like it lot more. Although it can act like a laptop the pullout tray to seat the IPad is a pain to pull out, you have to lay the whole thing down where you have enough room to pull it out. It is really really hard to find the perfect keyboard case, I have had many different ones, and Zaggs Folio clam cases are the best out there. It is simple to use. If you did a redesign I would suggest using something more like a cushioned vinyl or anything that doesn t sound hollow like plastic. The keys on the keyboard are plastic also which doesn t give the smooth action like I prefer. That s my opinion, for the price it s not bad but it could be a lot better and I would pay a lot more if they ever do an upgrade. 312.9 Portrait mode! I was looking for an iPad 12.9 keyboard case capable of handling the portrait mode. I have no idea why the expensive brands like Apple or Logitech have never done it - I would ve immediately bought it, regardless of the price. That s one of the main reasons people like me get iPads - to do the text processing in the most logical mode - portrait. Otherwise I would ve gotten a laptop that would ve been even cheaper. So here we go - this is the fanciest 12.9 keyboard case capable of handling it vertically. The quality is petty good for the price. Yes, the sliding part is pretty loose and most likely will not last too long. The keyboard does not have that fancy look and feel. But hey - I can totally use it with my iPad in portrait while typing, and nothing else, even the almost 4x more expensive designed by Apple can. The only huge problem with this case is opening it. I thought I was doing it wrong, but the instructions had nothing on the proper way to do it. Not sure why the designers missed such an obvious part. It takes a long fingernail and some skill to just open the case. It would ve been so much better without the useless stylus but with a nice button to open the damn case. Would ve given 5 stars if not for this annoying feature that you have to use every time you need your iPad. 3Effective and inexpensive Ipad case My wife got an Ipad and this is the first case she is trying. The price was right and it got here quick. So far it works ok. I really liked the way the tablet can be set in landscape or portrait when using the keyboard. She thinks it feels a little flimsy, and it does kind of have a cheap plastic feel, but only time will tell how sturdy it is. I think it will hold up. She just started using it this week. If it holds up I will probably never look at this review again so if you see this review after April 2018, with nothing added, then it's a safe bet the thing is still taking abuse. Hahaha, have a good day. 4ENCORE, ENCORE! This keyboard put me through two generations of iPad Pros, giving me a nice, INEXPENSIVE and tactile relief to Apple's mushy, overpriced "Smart" keyboard. It had it all... rotation, great battery life, adjustability, stability... and my absolute favorite feature: one squeeze removed the bulk of the keyboard without sacrificing protection. iPad Pro has never been so close to properly replacing my laptop as it was in this case.Admittedly, a backlight would've been nice and I didn't really ever use that stylus, but my one real big dislike (and it's a big dislike)... is that there isn't one for the 3rd Gen iPad Pro 2018. I truly do hope a version of this exact caliber of keyboard soon finds it's way to the 2018 iPad Pro lineup, 'cause I'll be first in line to give it a whirl. 5I don't love it, but it does the job I like that the keyboard can be so easily separated from the device. That being said, it can be kind of cumbersome to handle. The Bluetooth connection is easy to make, but I found the connection will drop if you don't use the keyboard for a few minutes.I wish that typing on the keyboard felt more like typing on a laptop keyboard. It doesn't feel as sturdy as I would like it to be.Overall, I'm satisfied with this product. I don't love it, but it does what it needs to do. 4Not easy to use. Bulky and awkward. This case was difficult to use. I never did figure out how to get my iPad to stand as shown in this picture, at an angle right above the keys, without it resting against the keys. It was difficult to pry open, so I had visions of my iPad getting broken as I struggled to get the case open. It was also bulkier than I wanted. I returned it and found better options on the Apple store. 2Paired easily. It does show fingerprints Just got it today. Paired easily. It does show fingerprints. But it is great case. 5
